Frequently asked questions

Answers drawn from our founding plan.

Where does LAAF work?

We begin in Iwo, Osun State. We plan to reach other communities in Osun State in years 2–3, and other states in Nigeria in years 4–5.

Who can receive support?

Students, widows, traders and market women, artisans, persons with disabilities, and families in need.

How are people chosen?

Through community recommendations, an application process, needs assessments, verification of financial and social circumstances, and clear eligibility criteria. Priority goes to people who show genuine need and a commitment to improving their own circumstances.

Can I recommend someone?

Yes. Community recommendations are one of the ways we find the people we help. Please use the contact page.

How is the work funded?

Through donations from individuals and companies, partnerships with local and international organizations, fundraising events, an endowment fund, and annual giving campaigns.

How will I know how gifts are used?

We publish progress reports, financial accountability reports, and an annual impact review, so supporters can see how every gift is used.
